We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our new space!

Join us on Saturday, March 8th, for an evening of celebration as we inaugurate our new home with a solo debut show by our current artist in residence, Fish The Painting.

For the past five years, the artist has been pushing the boundaries of his approach to painting, which consists solely of stretcher bars and canvas, through various transmedia works utilizing performance, sculpture, fashion, video, social media, installations, video games, AR, and CGI. Over the last decade, Fish the Painting has built his identity around these base materials, finding a sense of belonging that was lacking while growing up in a small Austrian town, feeling alienated from both his Austrian and Nigerian cultures.

As a child, the artist's mother reassured him that people would treat him better as he grew older, leading Fish to escape into screens, engaging with games, social media, and other virtual worlds. Now, he immerses himself in his self-created frame world while simultaneously influencing the real world through the production of culture. This drive fuels the artist's creation of narratives centered around leftist theory and algorithmic literacy, which form the foundation of his research.
