Dani Marcel and Bodya Konakov present:
‘Butter Pyramid’, a one-night event centred around different modalities of performance
The title comes from a joke: in Slavic languages Maslo means butter, offering a potentially new interpretation of the well-known Maslow pyramid of need-hierarchies as a pile of butter. This metaphor of parallel, regional and personal understandings of needs and hierarchies gives the theme of the event. Taking place in Kupfer’s Shoreditch location and spanning across 4 different floors, the organisation of space itself loosely follows the structure of the pyramid, each floor appearing as a region in Maslow’s powerful image of the motives of human action.
